The modern USE does not look like the 2009 version for a long time: tasks with a choice of answers and “guessing” are a thing of the past, mathematics was divided into two levels of difficulty – basic and specialized, and in 2015 the oral part of the exam in foreign languages and essay appeared.
In the 2018-2019 academic year, there will be no fundamental changes in the USE: to get a certificate, it is enough to score 24 points on the USE in the Russian language and get a satisfactory mark in basic mathematics. For admission to universities, the minimum scores are different: Russian – 36, profile mathematics – 27 or credit (humanitarian universities).
But nevertheless, you need to be ready for some innovations: on the Unified State Exam in Russian, graduates will work with an unfamiliar text, they will not be able to take two exams in mathematics at once: they will have to choose a basic or profile one.
The number of exams in foreign languages will also grow: not four, but five languages are available to choose from – English, French, German, Spanish and Chinese.
But the main thing that graduates and their parents must remember is that the USE does not go beyond the school curriculum.
